In the ‘Information Age’, most of us are aware that our data is collected and utilised by every company we interact with. However, we suspect that much fewer are aware of the finer details of how this information is collected, stored and used.
There’s generally a positive story around the legitimate use of customer data – essentially brands can interact with customers using genuine insight, providing the right information to the right people.
This topic has been dominating headlines in recent years, and no more so than now. In just a matter of weeks (25th May), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect, marking a key shift in how organisations are allowed to collect, store and use customer data. In short, this new regulation was designed to unify data privacy laws across Europe, ensure a harmonised approach to how organisations consider data privacy, to protect customer data, and to give customers more power over their information.
As we prepare for these forthcoming changes, we wanted to communicate our commitment to you. We pride ourselves on transparency, and are dedicated to giving our customers the best experience possible, while protecting their data and respecting their privacy.
Our updated Privacy Policy comes into effect on 25 May, but we wanted to share a preview of it in advance. In this document, you can learn more about:
-The type of information we collect, and how we collect it
-How and why we use your information
-Who we share your information with
-How and where it is stored
-Your rights to this information
-How we communicate with you for marketing purposes

GDPR impacts how we interact with you. For example, we may not be able to send you details of our latest properties and investment facts, expert market insight and analysis, product updates and any promotional offers without your consent.
You can update the types of communication you would like to receive in the new Preference Centre on your account.
