A new chapter: our acquisition by GII

This message contains important information regarding a change in London House Exchange’s ownership. As a regulated trading venue, and to ensure all clients have time to review this announcement, we have paused trading on the Exchange until 11 AM, Monday 5 October.

We are pleased to announce that Gulf Islamic Investments Group (GII) has acquired a majority stake in LHX following receipt of formal approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Better (NASDAQ: BETR) will retain a strategic minority shareholding, reflecting its continued confidence in LHX.

GII is a leading global Sharia-compliant alternative investment group in the GCC region, with c. US$3.5 bn of assets under management across private equity, real estate, private credit and financial services. The acquisition of LHX represents GII’s second strategic investment in the UK financial services space, following its investment in Offa, an FCA-regulated Sharia-compliant home finance provider. Together with Vision Bank, GII’s wholly owned licensed digital Islamic bank in Abu Dhabi and its growing private credit platform across GCC, the transaction further cements GII’s position in building a globally integrated financial services platform.

What this means for you

Once trading resumes, nothing changes in how you use the platform:

  • Your investments, shareholdings and client money will be held exactly as they are today, with the same regulatory protections.
  • LHX will remain authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

No action is required on your part because of this announcement.

What this acquisition brings

This acquisition marks an exciting new phase for LHX. Within GII’s financial services ecosystem, our plans include:

  • Expanding beyond UK property into a broader range of institutional-grade alternative investment opportunities, including private credit and Sharia-compliant income-generating assets;
  • Offering priority investments alongside GII and its investors across exclusive opportunities, from IPO access to real estate;
  • Exploring regulated tokenisation of real-world assets on our regulated market infrastructure; and
  • Significant investment in platform technology and market operations

We look forward to building on the strong foundations established by the LHX team and leveraging GII’s investment expertise, global network and financial resources to support the platform’s growth. Together, we aim to broaden the range of investment opportunities available to clients and further strengthen LHX’s position as a leading regulated marketplace for alternative investments.”
